![]() ![]() I deleted and recreated the accounts but still it doesn't work. I checked it under Thunderbird account optons and it is set correctly. It keeps asking for a password and returns "mail server responded invalid user password" We can use yahoo mail via the yahoo mail web site with the same password, so the password seems correct. Thunderbird (version 2.0.0.21) stopped working on Mafor att.yahoo mail. Check that you have all your Mail settings correct. Weekly or more often is strongly recommended. * Are you using an antivirus and/or a firewall program? Which ones? * Is your mail service from an ISP, corporate e-mail system or Web-based? * What is the exact wording of the error message you are receiving? * Which version of Thunderbird? Check Help>About for the version number. When posting to a forum to request support it is helpful to detail what has already been tried so that folks won't post suggestions for the same unsuccessful "solutions". Try deleting all entries in the password manager, exiting, restarting and trying again (where you check the checkbox in the password prompt to save the password). If the password manager is storing passwords but doesn't successfully use them perhaps something corrupted the storage. There have been several reports of passwords not being saved when upgrading to version 60.2.1 that were solved by deleting the pkcs11.txt file" cert8.db, ke圓.db, and secmod.db were replaced by cert9.db, key4.db, and pkcs11.txt. ? Send yourself an email and, when the password is requested, make sure to check the box to have Thunderbird remember the password for automatic submission to the server. If you have more than one server defined there, click on the definition for the account that is asking for a password when sending, then click on the "Remove" button. Apparently in your case the server is looking for a normal password for receiving mail.Īs for Sending, it's the same thing but the server is the SMTP server, not the POP or IMAP server.
